Some people may think that CPA Advertising and Affiliate Marketing is the same thing. Even though in CPA advertising you are called an affiliate because you are simply doing the selling, you are also involved in selling when doing affiliate marketing. But it is not correct to assume both activities are exactly the same as I reveal later.
First of all it is worth noting that you don’t have to be involved with the creator of a product you are promoting. You may or may not know the person who made the product and that is fine, as long as you can target your audience with the product they are after. On the other hand, if you were affiliating for CPA advertisers, you would find them wanting to have a close relationship with you.
When you, as an affiliate marketer, promote a service, product or event, and manage to get a sale, you then get paid for that sale, or a commission for that sale, the agreed amount or percentage of the sale. Remember that no sales no commissions for this model. Now let us go back to CPA advertising and here you find that you can get paid without making a sale as well as when you make a sale; in this model you also get paid for actions such as passing on an email address, or a post code, a subscription etc. Collect targeted data that your prospects gladly give you, and from your CPA advertisers you gain a valuable income.
Do you have to pay to get access to a CPA network? Sometimes it is required as when you agree to a membership or to hold a license. More often than not though, it is completely free to join a CPA network but there is a way to gain permission to affiliate for these networks, the most important point is to convince them that you have the marketing skills to be their affiliate.
Trying to speak on the phone with the CPA network manager is always advisable not only for them to get to know you, but also for the help that the manager can give you, since it is in their interests to inform you and guide you to become a valuable asset to the network by increasing their leads and sales.
But we did not mention yet what CPA stands for. You now know some of the differences between CPA advertising and affiliate marketing so let us stay now with what CPA means which is “cost per action”. When you join a CPA network you learn what specific type of action you need to promote, and you’ll get paid different rates for the actions that are taken by your prospects. You get to learn their offers, which ones are more profitable for you and those are the ones to promote.
Examples of these, as we’ve seen briefly before, can be subscriptions to a membership, surveys, newsletters etc. as well as for making sales of course. This can be such a lucrative affiliate model. And you may have heard of astronomical daily incomes from this model of marketing. In fact, CPA advertising is still booming since its beginnings of around late 2005.
All you have to do now is apply to get accepted to a CPA network. Believe me, it is worth it simply because, if you apply yourself, read the fine print, get in and start making commissions like some other marketers doing this, you’ll become very wealthy indeed.
Clearly it is better to have your own website for getting accepted, but it is not absolutely necessary. Just tell them your promotion techniques, what you are familiar with in internet marketing and how well these techniques work, and they will accept you in their CPA network. Happy CPA marketing!
